Thank you for visiting my web site. I hope you will find some answers here to questions about counseling. More importantly, I hope you can get an idea of who I am and if I might be someone you would like seeing in therapy.

There is a lot of research which indicates that your relationship with, and impression of your therapist is one of the most important elements of successful therapy.

I am a psychologist licensed in Michigan. I have been in private practice since 1991 and before that I worked at the Counseling Center at Michigan State University. While maintaining my private practice, I was an Assistant Professor at Michigan State University from 1999 until 2009, in the Counselor Education Masters Program. In my practice I see individuals – generally seeing individuals who are 15 years old and older.
My office is nestled in a peaceful, country setting; while still easily accessible from downtown Lansing and Michigan State University. It is the perfect place for reflection, stress relief and healing.
I am in private practice with fifteen other psychologists, social workers, and marriage and family therapists. If you are looking for someone to do marriage or family therapy, or to see a child, I will be happy to refer you to one of my colleagues.
If you are thinking of making an appointment to see me, but you have questions or other concerns you would like addressed first, please feel free to e-mail me, or call me at (517)372-2300. If you call, you will either get me, directly, or you will get my confidential voice mail. You will not have to go through a secretary. If you get my voice mail, leave a message and I will call you back as soon as I can. I try to return calls within an hour or two, and certainly on the same day they are left for me.
